The Prospect Heights biennial house tour will be held on Sunday, October 18th from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The self-guided tour will include 11 wonderful homes and apartments. As one of Brooklyn’s premier brownstone neighborhoods, Prospect Heights’ historical and aesthetic significance was recognized by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission on June 23rd when it created the expansive Prospect Heights Historic District.

    Masstransiscope

Brooklyn subway riders of the early 1980s remember the colorful movie that emerged from the dark tunnel before crossing over the Manhattan Bridge. Titled Masstransiscope this fanciful installation was created by artist Bill Brand and located in the unused subway station at Myrtle Avenue. Brand's work has been recently restored to its former glory. Join the artist for a talk and a ride-by tour of this popular 28-year old project and its recent refurbishing.

Join over 1 million visitors at Brooklyn's favorite street festival. Spanning 10 blocks of Atlantic Avenue, from 4th Avenue in Boerum Hill all the way to Hicks Street in Brooklyn Heights, the 2009 Atlantic Antic will feature 10 live music stages, over 600 vendors, pony rides, and a smorgasbord of national and international edible delights.

The 9th annual installment of the Coney Island Film Festival hits the shores of Coney Island from Friday, October 2nd through Sunday, October 4th. This year's festival features ninety six films from around the world; a stunning array of high and low-brow fare, as diverse as the neighborhood it represents. Subjects range from the profound to the profane, showcasing the independent spirit and irreverent nature of the one and only Coney Island.
