On Saturday, March 3 at 3 PM, students and faculty from Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts (www.usdan.com) will present a free performance of musical theater and classical music at the Park Slope Barnes & Noble, 7th Avenue and 6th Street in Brooklyn.
Usdan Center, whose alumni include Mariah Carey and Natalie Portman, is America's largest summer arts day camp and is attended by students 6 to 18 from Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, the Bronx, Westchester and throughout Long Island.
Now celebrating its 40th Anniversary, it was called byTime Magazine "One of the most unique camps in America," and has introduced the visual and performing arts to more than 50,000 children, many of whom attend on scholarship. Located on a magnificent 200-acre woodland setting in Wheatley Heights (Huntington area) Long Island, Usdan offers classes in music, dance, theater, visual arts, chess, film & video and computers, and no audition is needed for most programs.
