 Caribbean Gospel Festival 2007

EventsCaribbean Gospel Festival is back – bigger and better and still free! This 3rd annual festival, which features the best in Caribbean Gospel, will be held Saturday, August 18, 2007 in Lincoln Terrace Park in Brooklyn, NY (located at Buffalo Avenue and Eastern Parkway) from 1 pm to 9 pm.

Come enjoy the music, sun, and good vibes at this family oriented event which brings the brightest and best Caribbean Gospel music from across the globe – Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Grenada, America, and Guyana to name a few. “Our goal this year is to increase the visibility of Caribbean Gospel to the community and establish this festival as the premiere venue for Caribbean Gospel music lovers,” says Terrance Friday, organizer of the Caribbean Gospel Festival.

A powerful artist line-up begins with Janice Charles, Mike Roots, KOTIJ Crew, and L-egant, with more artists being confirmed daily.

Janice Charles, a vocal powerhouse, is by far Grenada's most versatile and innovative Gospel Artiste. Her compelling, melodious vocals and captivative style, stirs, encourages and lifts your spirit as she ministers in Calypso, Caribbean Contemporary and Reggae.

Mike Roots has been singing, playing and writing for over twelve years. Combining thoughtful lyrics, uniquely rich vocals, contemporary roots rhythms and solid production, Mike Roots is one of reggae's fresh new voices. The songs on his solo debut "Freedom & Struggle" are for all who enjoy positive music.

The K.O.T.I.J. (Keep On Trusting In Jesus) Crew, comprised of Slimwonda, King, The Young One and The Specialist, encourage the world to receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ over bass-grinding beats in their debut album, Keep On Trusting In Jesus…The Big Man.

L-egant, host of the daily radio show “The Christian Life Style Evening Show” on Brooklyn’s own The Spirit Station (106.3 FM), and whose smash hit, “Christ Ambassadors” has become a Caribbean Gospel anthem, will be on hand to emcee the festival and minister in song.

Also in the plans for the first time this year is the inclusion of the “Caribbean Gospel Festival Marketplace” which will feature local arts and craft vendors and have the feel of a Caribbean open air market.

The Caribbean Gospel Festival - more than an event – it’s a ministry whose purpose is to connect the Caribbean community to the Gospel message of Jesus Christ, through cultural expression; it is a resource that will equip other ministries, and individuals with the tools necessary to achieve their mission; it is committed to the development of Caribbean Gospel music and arts.
