 | Prison Ship Martyrs Memorial Ceremony |
 The Society of Old Brooklynites founded in 1880, is holding their 99th annual tribute and memorial ceremony for the Prison Ship Martyrs, at the Visitors' Center near the 148-foot towering Prison Ship Martyrs Monument in Fort Greene Park on Saturday, August 25th, at 10 a.m. The remains of 11,500 patriots who were imprisoned and perished aboard British Prison Ships during the American Revolutionary War are entombed in a crypt under the Monument. Main Speaker will be John Manbeck,
noted historian, columnist and author.
